Kumo: Film Theaters outside New York City may reopen on October 23rd at 25 percent capacity


NEW YORK (WKBW) – New York Governor Andrew Kumo on Saturday announced that movie theaters outside New York City could reopen at 25 percent capacity or up to 50 screens on October 23rd.

State guidelines for the reopening of theaters include the following

  • Masks are needed at all times, except when sitting and eating or drinking.
  • Seated seats are required in all theaters.
  • Social divisions between parties are always necessary.
  • Additional staff are needed to control additional occupants, traffic and seats to ensure compliance.
  • Improved air filtration, ventilation and filtration standards must be met in theaters.
