AMERIST, NIV (Reuters) – Amers police are warning local residents of consumer fraud scams under the guise of a national grid.

According to police, a real national grid can call people for a fee, but they leave the payment method to the customer.

Police said the company would never ask customers to pay immediately for transfers, green dot money-packs or any prepaid card service.

People are being warned never to give out their personal or financial information to anyone anonymously.

Those who want to verify their national grid account information can call 1-800-642-4272.
