Amherst police urge residents to protect commodities from exploitation

AMHRIST, New York (WKBW) – Amherst has warned police to keep their vehicles safe after exploitation.

Officials say there has been an increase in the number of trucks in the city in recent days and in most cases the logos have been opened.

Police issued the following statement.

The Amherst Police Department wants to remind residents to keep their vehicles safe while standing and not to leave keys or valuables in them. Any suspicious activity must be reported to the police and residents are encouraged to watch any home security footage for suspicious activity. “
